“Rat Silo’s “Come On California” Turns Political Division Into a Defiant Rock Rally
British Columbia rock veterans Rat Silo are back with “Come On California,” a politically charged alternative rock track that confronts division, resistance, and the fight for a better future.
Driven by urgent lyrics and a rallying chorus, the song presents California as standing at a crossroads, with the choices made today shaping what comes next. Its message is unmistakable: when people feel attacked, dismissed, or pushed aside, standing together becomes an act of defiance.
With lyrics referencing historical persecution, political conflict, and the struggle to reclaim a sense of belonging, “Come On California” takes an unapologetically confrontational approach. The song reflects a pro-Gavin Newsom perspective, framing California as a place facing a defining moment and calling on its people to prove what they stand for.
